“What is Creative Mondays?
Monday’s are always a drag. The start of a new week, you have to go back to that routine of going to bed early/get up early. If (like me) you have to commute then you prepare for that long journey into work and that long journey back for the first time after a nice two day break.
So to kick off those lousy Mondays, I’m going to get my creative mind flowing in a positive way. Creative Mondays. A chance for me to show off something unfinished or finished that I’ve been working on throughout the previous week.”
Despite not being around this week (a vacation has been long overdue) I already had in mind something that I wanted to create. It seems I’m on a bit of a comic-book kick what with my Dark Knight poster and now this Punisher concept but just this last week I watched a brilliant short where Thomas Jane reprises his role as The Punisher and it instantly inspired me. It’s a must watch so check it out.
The Punisher has always been a favourite of mine from Marvel. It’s darker tones and Frank Castle’s no nonsense attitude made great reading for an angsty teenager. The character has yet to be fully realised on film as it seems a difficult film to market what with it’s violent nature but I’d say the Thomas Jane version was the closest.
So whether it be a new film or a television series I’d love to see a return from this character. There’s a pretty cool story in there, it’s just waiting for the right mix.
