Creative Mondays 43 – Crow Beer

Crow Beer Design

“What is Creative Mondays?

Monday’s are always a drag. The start of a new week, you have to go back to that routine of going to bed early/get up early. If (like me) you have to commute then you prepare for that long journey into work and that long journey back for the first time after a nice two day break.

So to kick off those lousy Mondays, I’m going to get my creative mind flowing in a positive way. Creative Mondays. A chance for me to show off something unfinished or finished that I’ve been working on throughout the previous week.”

Crow Beer. *Insert snappy slogan here*. So this week’s Creative Mondays is all about beer? It certainly didn’t start like that.

After last week’s attempt at a glass-inspired image I wanted to try something similar with an animal shape. A bird was the first thing that came to mind, probably because I could see the shape of the beak in “shard” form. So I created the bird and broke it into pieces but I didn’t like where I was going. The illustration needed caging so I added the pentagon shape around the crow and this idea for a beer label unfolded. I’ll probably revisit the illustration and try the glass image but ice-cold Crow Beer is ready to serve!

The crow was created in Illustrator, the bottle and the label with patterned background were all created in Photoshop.
